Hi. Toby.
year there are walls, strairs, hand rails ... in my home town, named Shinjuku/Tokyo. Though their angle/slop is quite steep and there is guard too...

So, we usually ride at some small gaps, curves that we found.
I will show you some street spots in my blog..

I'm loving in here. Tokyo is a jamble city u know. Mixed up good and bad, new and old things, but no nice trail, park and static... I'm feeling jealous ur country Dan
